Explosion-proof manometers

Explosion-proof manometers

We have an extensive range of explosion-proof pressure gauges. These comply with ATEX and IECEx regulations. There are stringent requirements for applied products, such as pressure gauges and thermometers, in explosive environments. In July 2003, the European directive EN 94/9/EC (ATEX) came into effect, leading to a tightening of the relevant regulations.

For hazardous environments, EMVO Techniek offers a comprehensive range of thermometers, bourdon tube pressure gauges, diaphragm drum gauges, differential pressure gauges, and recorders that meet the requirements of ATEX 94/9/EC and IECEx regulations. Explosion-proof pressure gauges always come equipped with a blow-out. This is a special rubber disc, usually placed on the back of the pressure gauge. In the unlikely event that the pressure in the gauge becomes too high, it may start leaking, causing the pressure to rise further. At some point, that pressure needs to go somewhere. At that moment, the blow-out disc of the pressure gauge will shoot off. This occurs at the back, ensuring that employees or other individuals near the pressure gauge are not injured by shattered glass from the dial or other flying and potentially splintered materials.

To prevent an explosion and resulting damage, it is crucial to take certain precautions. When choosing a pressure gauge, consider that the pressure applied to the gauge should be a maximum of 75% of the maximum scale value in the case of stable pressure and 65% of that in the case of variable pressure. Also, ensure that (explosion-proof) pressure gauges are at least 20 mm away from walls or panels, allowing the built-up pressure to escape safely and freely.
