What pressure units are available?

PSI (Pound per Square Inch) – Widely used in North America

PSI measures the pressure exerted by a force of one (imperial) pound on an area of one square inch. It is the standard in North American markets, particularly in the automotive industry and hydraulic systems.

The dominance of PSI in North America stems from the imperial system’s prevalence during industrialization. Many technical documents, tools, and machines are designed around PSI, making it the practical standard. Additionally, the U.S.’s influence on trade and technology has reinforced global acceptance of PSI.

kg/cm² – The favorite in Asia

This unit represents pressure as force per square centimeter. One kg/cm² equals 0.98 bar. It is popular in Asian countries like Japan, India, and Korea due to its direct connection to practical and technical applications. Its scale is convenient for industries such as agriculture, water management, and light industrial processes, where clear and relatable values are essential.
